Meet the Telegraphers: Kenslie!

There’s a new face around the office! Say hello to our new designer, Kenslie McGuire! Kenslie’s got an eye for all things design and photography (and a super trendy instagram to prove it!), which is why we are overjoyed that she chose to bring her talent to Telegraph. Learn all about her below!

What was your first job out of college and how did you land that position?

My first job out of school was serving as the Art Director for the clothing store company Soca Clothing. I happened to connect with the Creative Director via LinkedIn and the rest is history!

Most important thing you’ve learned in your career so far?

The most critical thing I’ve learned in my career is to make sure you’re surrounded by people that can be great creative influences. Work with people you can be friends with, but they also need to make you dream, inspire you, and  be able to tell you when your idea is terrible then hit you with a new direction to consider!

What advice do you have for someone who wants to get into design?

For anyone who’s wanting to dive into design, or just the creative field in general, be hypersensitive to what you love and enjoy. Notice when you’re not enjoying what you’re doing and take a different direction!

What attracted you to Telegraph and what excites you most about working here?

From the outside, what you see about the company is their branding! I love the meaning of Telegraph as it alludes to sending messages! Creative inducing space is so important to me. Telegraph is so open and encourages teamwork which is critical to a positive work environment. Having a rooftop space and being next door to Carrigans didn’t hurt anything either! Beyond that, every person I’ve talked to at Telegraph only marveled at the wonderful office culture!

If you could only use one social network for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

Instagram is my favorite. A picture is worth a thousand words. I am a visual person so I can appreciate the content on Instagram without having to read a thing!

What are a few of your most used emojis?

Favorite way to treat yourself?

If i’m gonna be treating myself, it’s going to be taking myself on a trip somewhere…preferably California.

Who would play you in a movie of your life?

Young Ann Margret for sure. She’s my spirit animal.

I wish I knew how to…

I do wish I knew how to play the guitar. I wanted to be a rockstar so I took lessons for a short time and the teacher said I was really talented. As with all good things, I got busy and had to quit taking lessons, but maybe one day I’ll get back into it!

Any secret talents?

I wouldn’t say I have any secret talents, but I love throwing parties and I’d say that’s a hobby of mine.
